Junior Training Week - February Half Term 2015
Report:
We had a very good Half Term averaging 50 each day, and “Team Gerhard” included 8 instructors. Unusually for February, we had bright sunshine most days and although our week coincided with Fasching and the half terms of many continental schools, our early starts and instructor’s knowledge avoided most of the crowds and queuing. The new lift seems to have been met with general approval.
We had a varied week including our usual welcome drinks on Sunday, videoing then playback in the Post, spit roasted chickens at the Böglalm, and a parallel slalom on the Böglerveld on Thursday evening. On Friday we had a cracking end of week race course set by Gerhard; running from the hut above the Böglalm to the Finish Hut, 25 gates and a 180m vertical drop. With excellent visibility we had 49 AVSC starters and 36 in the Open Race followed by our joint prizegiving by the Finish Hut in Inneralpbach.
