AICC Update 03/03/2017 @ 13.00pm
|
Ski PassesThere are no special offers, but the lift company, Alpbacher Bergbahn, have become one of the main sponsors of the event for which we are most grateful. For those of you who are arriving on Thursday afternoon, you will be able to purchase your lift passes at the welcome drinks on Thursday evening. Representatives from the lift company will be there to sell 1, 2 and 3 day passes so that you don't have to do this on Friday morning.
Location of the racesThis will depend on the snow and weather conditions so a decision will be made next week. We will be able to give you details at the captains’ meeting.
Parallel SlalomThe location of this will depend on snow conditions. Teams of four racers will be drawn together based on the time results from the GS. The idea is that total time of the four skiers of each team will be roughly equal which will ensure close and competitive racing.
Open TrainingThere will be some GS gates set up for open practice on Thursday morning. It is most likely that this will be located on the Galtenberg T-bar which is at the bottom of the Inner Alpbach lift area. AVSC club members will be at the Inner Alpbach lift station between 9 and 10am on Thursday morning to direct you to the correct location.
Ski Shop Conny's Sport is our ski shop partner for the event. There are two shops; one at the Inner Alpbach lift station, and one in the centre of Alpbach village below the Postalm bar. As you have already read in a previous email, Conny's is offering rental of race skis and a special race service; this is available in the Alpbach village shop only. Standard ski service is available in the Inner Alpbach shop. Email: [email protected].

TransportThere are two different lift stations which serve the ski area on the Alpbach side of the valley. Buses run regularly to both stations which are 5 minutes from Alpbach village. We have arranged additional buses for AICC racers to make it easier for everybody to get to the lift stations in good time. Buses will leave the village from 8am on Friday and Saturday morning. We will give more detailed information on this at the Team Captains’ meeting. From the replies we received on this subject it was 50/50 between taking your own cars and using the buses. There is plenty of free parking at both lift stations.
Team Captains' MeetingPlease come to the Hotel Böglerhof at 6pm on Thursday. AVSC club members will be there to greet you and show you to the meeting room.
